Daisy Cake...

I made this cake in the middle of a very busy cake week
It was for my mother-in-laws birthday
and she loves the old school Wilton
cake pan designs with buttercream frosting
so this is what she got a
daisy shaped butter cake with all buttercream icing
I also had to add a cute
fondant bee & ladybug:)

Spider-Man Cake ...

I made this cake for an old high school friend's nephew
He loves Spider-Man so I purchased a Spider-Man candle
from AC Moore to put on the top
The cake is a 9" vanilla cake with butter cream & fondant
I made all the details from fondant as well.

(Side view)
* The blue is more of a royal blue like Spider-Man but my flash makes
it look like this ocean blue

(Front view)
* the cake is level but sitting on a chair

Pirate Theme Party....

Next weekend we will celebrate my oldest son Hunter's
7th Birthday!
He has asked for a pirate party
so I have been searching through pinterest for
ideas on how to throw an awesome pirate theme party!
Here is what I have already made

Birthday Boy!

I made these pirate theme cupcake toppers
from stickers that I found at Target in
the dollar spot marked down to .50!!!
I just stuck them on toothpicks & gave them
a little support in the back

I made this treasure map from
old scrapbook paper that I had laying around
and it happens to be an early map design!!

Love this one!
I had wanted to do water bottle labels but I couldn't find
a free template & I wasn't about to pay $1.00 a label to order them!
I googled how to make a label & found out you can download free
digital scrapbook paper. I did that for the red & white stripes & then
for the skull I just chose some random clip art and printed it in
thumbnail size & glued it to the front of the bottle!

I made this to stick in either hot dogs or
maybe a watermelon...haven't decided yet!
I had tons of skewers laying around
so I took some red card stock cut down to a size I liked
& glued the skull clip art to that as well!

I love these loot bags...
I started with plain red paper sacks
& I had also found these pirate cards in the dollar spot
at Target marked down to .50 in a pack of eight!
I just cut them out of the card & glued them to the front
of the red bags.

This is my sweet boys birthday cake
I hope he loves it!
It's a 9"round White almond vanilla cake
with fondant and buttercream
the chest & pirate man are toys
but the rest is made from fondant/gumpaste

This is Hunter's other birthday cake
I made this one from an 8" round chocolate cake
covered in fondant & decorated with fondant accents

I tried to carve his watermelon like a shark
but this is all I got! (LOL) he liked it anyways

Saw this on pinterest...blue jello, clear solo cups,
orange slices. I added the pirate theme stickers on toothpicks
that I got at Target for $.50!!

I made my own fruit tray & fruit dip!
then I just stuck some pirate theme clip art
on toothpicks and randomly placed them in the fruit

My silly boy!
Happy birthday Hunter we love you so much!!!!
