Goody Bags on the cheap!

I found an amazing deal on these toys.
I went to Wal-mart on a random weekday
and happened to check out the clearance toys
section. They had all of these toys marked down to $0.25!!!
I bought them all and thought how cool for
Hunter's party favors to all his little guest.
I'll probably never stumble upon a deal like that again!
For the girls that were attending his party
I got these cute little heart purses at Toys R Us
marked down to $1.00 and I filled it with some
candy!

Pinata

I used cereal boxes to construct
                                                    my son's Monster Truck
Pinata. I formed the shape I wanted
                                                    then taped the seams shut.

The second step in my construction
was to paper mache! Now a word to
the wise this project is extremely MESSY!!!
I had some eager little helpers while doing
this part and we had a paper mache nightmare
                                                     afterwards in my kitchen;)

Once its dry, you fill with candy & decorate the pinata!
I used a piece of twine threaded through the boxes
to hang. I had a bunch of strong boys at this party and it took
many tries from all the children to finally knock it apart. The
Pinata was probably the biggest hit of the Monster Truck party
                                                  lol no pun intended!

Memorial Day Cupcakes

These cupcakes were for our Memorial Day cookout
I split my batter into 3 different bowls and colored them
red, white & blue.
I also used red & blue cupcake liners
frosted the cupcakes in buttercream & topped with
red, white & blue sanding sugars
My red, white & blue batter

this is what the cupcake looked like with
the different colored batter. Of course this picture was taken
after one of the kids licked off the icing! ;)

Girly Roller Skate Cake...

This was a cake my daughter asked me to make her for dessert
so thrown to together its a 6inch round cake with buttercream & fondant details
the roller skate I made from fondant & traced some clip art for the shape
I then added some pink fondant accents to embellish my skate. Her name was done out of
white fondant using my Wilton letter cutters.

My Mom's 50th Birthday Cake...

This cake is a full sheet made with a marble cake then covered with
ganache & decorated with Swiss meringue buttercream! My mom sent me an
idea for a round black & white cake on pinterest so this was my take on it
to make it feed her entire office staff of 30+...Happy Birthday Mom!

Busy Weekend!

Mother's Day Weekend was a busy one for me in my little kitchen. I spent all day Saturday baking up some yummy treats! First I made 3dozen cupcakes for a family reunion which included lemon with lemon filling, Oreo with Oreo cream cheese frosting & strawberry cheesecake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

Mickey Mouse Theme Cupcakes!

OK so these cupcakes totally made me feel like a "REAL" Baker! lol  Everything was from scratch a pound cake cupcake with Swiss meringue buttercream! I had been reading on all the blogs that I frequently stalk that they all use this buttercream and I tried it myself. I now see what all the hype is about! My only complaint is the color didn't get as red as I would have liked I still need to research how to get red, red. Anyways my son's preschool loved them & that was enough for me!
